In the Cart Settings you have the following 3 options which are enabled in the cart Settings to grant Role specific pricing.

1. Order Level Discounts By Role – Order level discounts by role only when a user is logged in and a member of the role you define. Order level discounts by role are applied to the order subtotal and can be configured as a discount percent or discount amount. Order Level Discounts can be configured in the Discounts section of the Admin Menu.

2. Show Member Prices By Role - When the show member prices by role checkbox is checked the member pricing will be displayed when the user is logged in and a member of the role you define. The member pricing by role is defined from the product setup screen.

3. Member Discount By Role – When you select this option a member discount percent textbox and member role dropdown list will be displayed. When you enter a value in the discount percentage field and choose a role from the dropdown box the cart will automatically apply a discount to the customer‟s order during checkout. Member discounts are automatically applied to the order subtotal and do not require the customer to enter a coupon code. Percentages should be entered as numbers without the percent sign.

The Member Discount By Role option will allow you to set the Price for the product and specify the role it is applied to, this is configured in the Product Setup screen on the selected product in the Member Pricing section. For more information please see the SmithCart Manual, starting at the bottom of pg.152.
