Hi,

Smith Cart 4.86, Dnn 6.0.2.

Tax Store settings : Apply EU VAT Regulations.

In the Manage order detail page (visible by the admin), in the Customer / Shipping Info tab, the VAT is always added, even if the VAT number is valid and the VAT exempt is checked in the Invoice Info tab (the user has made a purchase with a valid VAT number and has checked the exempt VAT checkbox and the price paid during the order is VAT exempt).

Due to this bug, VAT tax is enumerated (and added to the price) in the order emails that are send again with the admin interface (through the 'Send Order Email' button).

Please fix this error. Thanks.

Hi Rico,
When the original order was placed in the front end cart checkout did you enter and apply the VAT Number on the cart screen? The reason I ask is because the real time VAT number Validation at the EU Commission VIES site is only programmed on the front end checkout cart page. The manage order details admin page was not programmed to call the VIES site and do the real time VAT number Validation and recalc the order with tax exemption after an order is already placed.

Hi Scott,

As I already wrote, the user has made a purchase with a valid VAT number and has checked the exempt VAT checkbox and the price paid during the order is VAT exempt. So the front end transaction is correct.

However, in the manage order detail page, the VAT rate is added to the total price (so the displayed total amount is different from the price paid by the user). In the 'Invoice Info' tab, the VAT number is stored and the VAT exempt is checked.

As the VAT is added to the price, if the admin resend the email, the user will not receive the price originally paid, so it is inconsistent.

Note that in the 'Invoice Info' tab, the VAT number can be real-time validated and the VAT exempt checkbox is editable, but, as you have mentioned, checking or unchecking it does not "recalc the order with tax exemption after an order is already placed".

So even if it does not recalculate, the VAT rate & amount at the bottom of the manage order detail page should be 0 if the user was not charged VAT when purchasing its products.

Hi support,

Have you any update about this? It prevents resending order email (from the manage orders page) as the amount is invalid in the resent email (the amount is not VAT exempted althought the user has originally NOT paid the VAT - by checking 'VAT exempt' during the checkout process) ?

If the VAT exempt checkbox is checked in the Invoice Info tab (Manage orders page), the VAT should not be added to the price details below (and so the VAT will be 0 in the resent email)...

Thanks.

Hi Rico,

Currently this a limitation of the Cart when using the Apply EU VAT Regulations Tax method.

The Manage Order Details admin page was not programmed to call the VIES site and do the real time VAT number Validation and recalc the order with tax exemption after an order is already placed. If your company has budget to sponsor a portion of the development to program the ability you described we can provide you with a fixed quote by submitting a Quote Request at the following link: http://www.smith-consulting.com/servi...

Thanks

Thanks
