Our site is www.soapqueen.com.au on DNN 5.6 and running Smith Cart 4.8.6.

We have a specials page on which we have the featured products module on it. Each featured product has a sale price attached to it.

If a user adds a product from the specials page and goes to the shopping cart the specials price holds.

If they go to another page where we have buy now modules sharing all products, order a product and then go to the shopping cart the sale price is lost and the normal price is presented.

If you order from a buy now module first, then from the featured product module and go to the shopping cart the price holds.

Have I configured something wrong or is it a bug?

Hi Robert,

Did you enable Sales Prices in the Coupon and Discount Setup section of your Cart Settings? When checked displays product sale prices in the product catalog (product list and poduct detail pages).

Thanks,

I have enabled the discount price in each of the Buy Now modules in the Coupon & Discount section of Cart Settings page. Enabled Sales Prices checkbox.

It does work if you only order from the Featured products page but if you add a product from another buy now module it looses the special price.

Hi Robert,

I have just tried to reproduce the same behavior you reported with the Sale Price in our test environment however I was unable to replicate the issue you reported. Can you login to our test site http://www7.smith-consulting.com/ and try to replicate this issue. This will determine if the issue is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific dnn portal/cart install.

Please send an email with a link to this post to kevin@smith-consulting.com if login credentials are needed.

Thanks,

Using the sale price feature, a user will get the sale price but if the continue shopping and buy another product, the shop reverts to the originall price.

Can you let me know when the Sale Price bug might be looked at.

Hi Robert,

Can you please confirm which version of the Cart you are currently running?

When you say "a user will get the sale price but if the continue shopping and buy another product, the shop reverts to the originall price" is this occurring on the Product Listing, Cart page, or during checkout?

Do you have multiple BuyNow modules installed?

Thanks,

Has anything been planned around the Sale price issue?

Hi Robert,

Are you currently still running SmithCart v.4.86?

I cannot seem to replicate any issue with the sale prices. Could you provide the steps which need to be taken to reproduce the issue?

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

If you go to http://www.soapqueen.com.au/Specials.aspx and order a soap. The Sale Price is $2.95.

Then go to http://www.soapqueen.com.au/Shop.aspx and order a second soap. Not one with a Sale price.

Then View Cart which takes you to the cart.

You will see the Sale Price has been replaced with the normal price.

I would hope that the system holds the Sale Price.

Regards

Robert

Hi Robert,

I have looked at your site and can see that the product is not holding the Sale Price after being added to the Cart then navigating to another page and adding a Product from another BuyNow module.

I have not however, been able to replicate this issue on our test portal with a similar setup. I am testing on www21 on the latest version of the Cart soit is possible this issue may have already been addressed in a recent release.

Please confirm that all of your Featured Products and MiniCart modules have the same BuyNow Page Name configured in the module Settings as I believe that you are using quite a few BuyNow modules.

I have setup the following on the test site, please advise if your configuration differs:

Featured Products Page - http://www21.smith-consulting.com/en-us/featuredproducts.aspx
Use MiniCart enabled

Add Product with Sale Price to Cart

Product is added to the MiniCart with correct Sale Price applied.

Navigate to BuyNow page - http://www21.smith-consulting.com/en-us/store.aspx

MiniCart module added to page
Use MiniCart enabled

Add a non Sale Price Product to the Cart

Product is added to the MiniCart with the correct prices with Sale Price applied.

To confirm the issue is fixed in the latest version of the Cart you can download the trial version to upgrade to the latest build and fix the issue. Be sure to make a full backup in case you need to rollback.

You are also welcome to login to our test site to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific dnn portal/cart install.

Please send an email with a link to this post to support@smith-consulting.com if you need login credentials.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

I upgraded to the latest Smith version 5 and now dont see any products on the buy now module pages. The Featured prodiucts do show.

http://soapqueen2011.digdnn.com/

I think the sale price issue may be related to the fact that I use price class discounts to provide quantity discount which seem to override the sale price.

Let me know what options might be available.

Regards

Robert

I tried changing to product category discounts but the discount overrides the special price.

Have also just noticerd that if you try to order a quantity of the special product and add to cart, it only adds 1.

Hi Robert,
The cart doesnt support running discounts on sale prices. You can configure either price class discounts, category discounts or sale prices but not all running together.

OK, I can get around that by taking the sale price product out of the price class and not using the sale price field.

Seems to defeat the purpose of the field.

Canyou check how to allow a user to order more than 1 of a featured product item.

Hi Robert,

I was able to replicate the issue of when entering an amount other than 1 in the Quantity box of a Product and clicking Add To Cart on the Featured Products module a quantity of only 1 will be added to the Cart. I will send this into our programming dept to be addressed and will postback as soon as an update is available.

Thanks for your feedback!
