Hi SC,

Thanks for implementing PayPal IPN in version 4.99.

In our PayPal account, what notification URL do we need to enter (in PayPal's Edit Instant Payment Notification (IPN) settings) ?

HI Daniel,

To set up IPN take the following steps:

1. Go to your store Admin Menu and click on Payment Setup.
2. Choose PayPal Standard
3. Enter your PayPal Merchant ID and copy the Notification URL from the textbox.
4. Next log in to PayPal and navigate to Instant Payment Notifcation (IPN) Settings.
5. Paste the Notification URL that you copied from the Payment Gateway Settings page into the textbox.
6. Set IPN Messages to Enabled and then click Save.

Hi Kevin.

 

Do we really need to set up the notification URL in the PayPal preferences ? This URL has been already set for another application, so we cannot change it.

Why you do not use the "ipn_notification_url" parameter to indicate PayPal the  URL (alongside the "return_url" and "cancel_url" parameters) when you send the order to PayPal ?

Hi Rico,
Yes, in order to get Paypal IPN to work with the cart you need to setup your notification URL at Paypal. I will add your request to the cart feature enhancement request list.
