I am using Smithcart 4.85.  Our products being sold are bicycles for handicapped individuals.  Each bike needs to have the options to add multiple optional "add on" pieces of equipment.  I have configured product variants (all in a group I named "optional equipment") for each cycle however when a user selects these add ons (check boxes) only the first option or variant selected results in the total price being adjusted.  If additional options are checked the total price does not adjust up incrementally.  How can I configure this?

Hi Clifton,

The Cart has been programmed to support the use of multiple checkboxes with Price Adjustments however I was able to replicate the issue you reported and have logged it to our programming list to address, I will postback to to this post as soon as an update is available.

Thanks for reporting this issue.

Hi Clifton,

I just received feedback from programming and their response is that the Checkbox Variant Display Type supports 1 Price Adjustment per Variant Group as it is not a checkbox list. We have the following 2 solutions for you:

1. Create and place each of your Variant checkbox options in it's own group to have each selection apply a Price difference.

2. We can develop a Checkbox List Variant Display Type which will give you the option to select multiple checkboxes in the same Variant Group and apply a Price Adjustment for each checkbox in the list. If you have budget in your project and would like to be provided with a fixed quote to develop this ability, please submit a Quote Request using the following link:https://www.smith-consulting.com/Serv...

Thanks,

Thank Kevin.  I appreciate the help!  I was just experimenting and also found that the incremental pricing does work wth checkboxes so long as EACH variant is assigned it's own individual variant group.  I believe this will work for us.

I like the look of the GRID option, but entering (for example) a 1 for each variant option box results in:

1) The price amount is not automatically adjusted visually however the option is added to the cart.

2) However,  the base price of the main product ( the cycle) is not transfered to the cart.  Only the enter quantity of the variant options wind up in the cart.

Nevertheless, I think the checkboxes will work.  It is not a problem having each variant in it's own variant group.

Thank you very much!

Hi Clifton,

We have went ahead and programmed the Cart to give you the option to select multiple checkboxes in the same Variant Group and apply a Price Adjustment for each checkbox in the list and the update will be available in the next release of the Cart v.5.1.

When using the Grid Variant Display Type, the amount entered in the Price Adjustment field will be used as the Price instead of adding the amount to the main product price.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

Thanks,
