Enabled the member discount by role function, applying a 10% discount for a specific (new) security. 
Noted that discount appeared on my SuperUser account, even though it didn't have the role.
Reset back to "no member pricing", and the discount disappeared for the user role but persisted on the Super User account.
Had to re-enable the discount by role, clear the 10 percent and the selected role (they were still present when re-enabled), then re-select "no member pricing" in order to clear the discount from the super user's shopping cart display.

Well, I wasn't really posting about not being able to test. I created user accounts  and assigned the member discount role to do my testing. The issue is that when the member discount option was turned off, it persisted for the super user. I didn't expect to have to restart SmithCart when i turn off an option, or to have to manually remove settings for a disabled option. Both approaches indicate that I'd always need to test how features work during the maintenance window for the site.
