To fix the issue try downloading and installing the latest cart version 5.22 from the trial downloads page:

Important: Please make sure you install and test on a NEW dnn sandbox account before installing to your live site.  Additionally, before you install to your live portal please make sure you have a full backup in case you need to rollback.

Upgraded 5.22.while testing..1. finding that existing products with variants are not added to cart when add to cart button clicked from detail page. (you have to click it twice for some reason. products without variants work fine)2. SHOW STOPPER. "create new user" login is not working in the workflow of checking out.it just gives the red error on the bottom of the page that says.... Login id or password incorrect. Please try again."No errors in the error log

What version of the cart did you upgrade from? Regarding item 2 what page are you receiving the message "Login id or password incorrect. Please try again". If you can post a screen shot of the page it will be helpful since there are multiple pages in the cart with login/pwd prompts.
