Item categories not saving between buy now modules

SmithCart 6.50

We recently upgraded to smithcart 6.50 Friday afternoon. We have 4 buy now modules we are running and have our products set to share between catalogs. When adding categories to a product in our new items buy module it saves fine. Then when we go to add categories to the same product in our Christmas buy now module it appears to save as well. We check to see if the item appears in our New Items category and it appears the categories have been stripped from the product in the new items category.

The products changes from store A are being removed when changes are being made to store B.

Is there something else that needs to be check or can you tell me what could be happening.

Hi Laura,

If you are using multiple BuyNow modules but you are sharing your Products between catalogs any changes made to the Product from any of the BuyNow modules will affect the Product. The way to to edit the Categories of a Shared Product that shows on multiple BuyNow modules is to add all Categories the Product applies to in the Product Setup screen then on the BuyNow and module, only display the Products you wish to show.

I'm not sure I quite understand the second part of your response. Can you clarify that last part? Sorry.

I have a feeling the way we want to go about showing a shared item in 2 different buy now modules won't be possible if we select categories manually in the product setup.

Hi Laura,

I would be happy to clarify.

Categories can be managed independently in each BuyNow module so the only time a Category will be shared between BuyNow modules is if the "Share" setting is enabled on the Category Setup screen. This way you can manage one product but display the Product in specific Categories of the chosen BuyNow modules.
