Can anyone give me any advice in changing the name of the website URL from say www.spacemanagemenproducts.com to wwww.modernfoldstyles.com ? What are the licensing issues, web.config issues, things that need to be changed in the cart and in the DNN Host? Any advice would be appreciated.

Has anyone lived through this scenario? Write back or you can call me. I have my number on the bottom.

Thanks.

Hi Art,

Here is a link to our licensing and upgrades page that will answer your questions about changing the domain for your license key:

http://www.smith-consulting.com/forums/licensingandupgrades.aspx

Other items to consider when changing the domain name on a dnn site that is already built:

  1. Change your dns for the new domain name to point to the ip address of the site
  2. Is you are using iis host headers then you would need to change the domain name in the host headers section of iis.
  3. If you have a dedicated ip address then you would just need to change the dns as described in item 1 above
  4. If you have any hard coded links in the site that reference the full url with the domain name those would need to be changed to relative links
  5. Change your SMTP settings to reference the new domain name if needed
  6. Re issue your Smith Cart license key for your new domain name
  7. Change any google analytics javascript you may have
  8. Change any google xml sitemaps you may have

Thats all I can think of for now!
