Hi,

I just downloaded the trial version of the Cart. I'm trying to figure out the extra/custom product fields but they are not showing up. I followed the manual on page 160 but when I try to edit the field the "custom fields" menu item doesn't show up under the Products menu.

Is this feature restricted in the trial version or am I doing something wrong?

I would appreciate any help I could get.

Thanks,

Laszlo

After you define your custom fields you need to go into the “Manage Products” screen click the “Edit” link next to the product you want to define custom product fields for and you will be taken to the product setup screen. From the product setup screen select “Custom Fields” from the “Products” sub menu and set the values you want for the custom product fields. In addition to the populating the values for the custom fields you will also need to enter the tab name that the custom fields will be displayed in. The custom fields will appear in the tabbed interface on the product details page so the user can view the custom product information.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply. I created the new fields exactly the same way you described it to me. I tried it again but it did not work i.e. did not work on IE8. It works great on Firefox. This is some kind of IE feature, or one of my settings is wrong.

I'm still not sure where the new fields end up though. I received the new tabs on the tabbed interface but they are blank.

It is too late now, I'll play with this again tomorrow and let you know the result.

Thank you for your help.

Laszlo

In order to determine if the issue is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific site/cart install can you login to our test portal and configure the cart settings to match your cart setup and try to replicate the issue.

Here are login credentials to the test portal:

Please send an email to support@smithcart.com if you need a login.
