We are using the Category Quantity Discount and it does not calculate correctly unless the user clicks the "Update Quantity" button on the shopping cart page. This is not a good user experience for our customers. Is there a know fix for this?

Easiest fix: Use Price Class discounts instead.

I will try to replicate the issue you reported and will postback with my findings.

I was able to get the category quantity discounts to calculate correctly on the www7 portal.

Are your products sharing multiple categories? Or are there any other discounts being applied?

There is only one category and only one discount applied  to the products but the discount is complicated. Basically the product costs $3.00 but every two are $5.00.

1 = $3.00

2 = $5.00

3=$8.00

4=$10.00 and so forth.

Quantity From Quantity To Discount Amount Group
1 1 0.00
2 2 0.50
3 3 0.33
4 4 0.50
5 5 0.40
6 6 0.50
7 7 0.43
8 8 0.50
9 9 0.44
10 10 0.50
11 11 0.45
12 12 0.50
13 13 0.46
14 14 0.50
15 15 0.47
16 16 0.50

I used the same discounts as you did on our www7. portal and had no problem getting the discounts correct aside from the price being off by $0.01. Are you saying that if you enter the quantity you desire then click add to cart it doesn't factor in the discount? Or if you change the quantity number in the cart screen that it doesn't automatically change the price?

Correct it doesn't always calculate the discount when adding products to the cart. If you change the quantity in the cart and click "Update Quantity" it calculates correctly. But if you delete an item from the cart the discount does not calculate correctly.

I see, when you change the quantity or add or delete item in the cart the price won't change immediately unless you click update quantity or try to check out. Even if the customer increases the quantity of the product it won't let them checkout with the lower price.

Correct.

The discounts only re-calculate if you click the update quantity button or if you click checkout, the discounts won't re-calculate if you type a new quantity in or if you tab off of the quantity amount.

Understood.

What I am having issues with is if I add a couple of items to the shopping cart. View the cart then continue shopping and add more items to the cart. Then return to the cart the discount is not calculated correctly until the user clicks on the Update Quantity button or you checkout.

Ok i understand what you are saying. I'll send this issue over to programming and will post back with an update.

Thanks, Kevin
