I want to be able to setup group discounts. 

I created groups. I created four groups (grad, awesome, family, nat)

I added the groups to the discounts sections. I gave the four groups discount percentages (grad 10 , awesome 100, family 25 , nat 30)

I also enabled cart discounts in the settings. "Enable Order Level Discounts by Role".

This doens't work when we go to check out.  Please advice!

There is no option to upload photos in your editor.

I am running DNN 5.6.2 and Smith Cart 4.36.0
