Question: if we go into the manage orders and select an old order (of any status, open or closed), and change the status to open, and “add item” to the bottom and save, will it actually process the payment for that new item? Let me know if that makes sense. If it does that, then we are absolutely all set, that is all we need. My client just wants an easy way to charge repeat customers when they call him and place another order.

Answer:

No changing the status of the order in the manage orders screen does not process another order with all that info. I think if we had that feature there would probably be a button titled “Clone Order” or something like that on the manage orders screen.

To process another order for the customer you have the following options:

1. Go thru the front end of the cart and check out with the customers info.

2. Go to your virtual terminal at Authorize.net and bill the customer the amount for the second order. With this option you are just billing the customers credit card for the order amount, this second order is not in the cart. Option 1 is probably better since the order can be tracked in the management area of the cart.
