Our company sells products with different colors and sizes and logos and wants us to create a portal for say, the NBA. I would like your advice on how best to set up products.
For instance, we have a flag that comes in multiple colors. We want a site where we can offer the flag in white, black, and Red for the Phoenix Cardinals (with just one, but that might change) logo on it. For the Cowboys we'd want to do the same thing, for the same set of overall products, but only for the flags colored Black, White, or Blue (and with one, maybe more Cowboys logos). Flags come in large, medium, and small.
Management wants a site where the customer can select their team, and then they should only see the colors and logos appropriate to that team.
Seeing that right now it's a business rule that there is only one logo option the product page dropdowns would probably be Color, then Size, then Quantity.
The problem is not so much all 3 items (Color, Logo, and Size), Size pretty much factors out, we're going to offer every size we have and inventory levels is not an issue. The thing that's harder is how to structure the data so when the Product page displays we only see the colors appropriate for the chosen team (which I expect we'd pass to it in the URL)
This looks like a Variant Inventory thing, but there are also Conditional Variants and I was wondering how you would approach the data setup if it were your task?
Thank you,
George Butler
