We use GST in New Zealand and Australia but the default viewable setting shows VAT. Everything calculates correctly etc but all documentation should say GST instead of VAT for correct Inland Revenue (NZ) / Tax Office (Aus) requirements.
A new dropdown in the cart settings has been added that allows you to choose VAT or GST to be displayed on all the labels in the cart. This feature is now availible in v3.81
