I'm running billing manager 4.36 with dnn 5.06. I have the surcharge set to 2.9 in the settings, but when you go to checkout, it just says the surcharge is 0. Am I doing something wrong in the settings? http://i.imgur.com/Jw8W4.png You can see the module here http://www.n2projects.com/OnlineBillP...

Hi Michael,

I just tried to re-produce this issue on my test portal and was unable to recreate the same issue, (please see screenshot below) but I may not have the exact same configuration as you. Can you login to our test site http://www17.smith-consulting.com/ and try to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue is with the latest version of the module or an issue with your specific DNN portal/module install.

For login credentials please send an email with a link to this post to kevin@smith-consulting.com

Thanks,

This is giving me an error on your site. I set your surcharge to a percent and it's just sticking to the 1.07 amount no matter. I'm guessing these two issues are related as mine just stays at 0 no matter what.

Hi Michael,

I just took a look at the www17 test site and the reason it is showing 1.07 as the surcharge amount is because the product the surcharge is being applied to has the price set as $37.00 which is correct as 2.9% of $37.00 is $1.07.

I then changed the Product price to $40.00 and the surcharge reflected the change by changing to $1.16 because 2.9% of $40.00 is $1.16.

Is this behavior not happening on your site?

Thanks,

So I was able to get it the way mine is. Here's the problem. We want to allow users to enter the amount they are paying. Essentially, they have a bill, they say I'm paying 30 or whatever dollars, and we want to charge a 2.9% addition to whatever that amount is. What's the point of having a user entered amount if you have to set a product price?

Hi Michael,

Are you using the Smith Billing Manager as well as the Smith RegPro module?

If so, are you using the Billing Manager Invoices to direct your users to the Registration module?

The Surcharge feature was not programmed to be applied to User Entered Amounts. If you have budget in your project we can provide you with a fixed quote to develop this ability just send an email with a link to this post to sales@smith-consulting.com. We quote all features below cost since it is enhancing the module and in most cases we can start work within a week.

Thanks,

No, I was told in this thread that I needed the smith billing module. http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forums/forumid/10/postid/11908/scope/posts.aspx#11908. Is there any way to do this without having to buy the other module as well? Frankly, that much money for a simple form for someone to put in an amount and get charged a percentage on that is pretty high.

Hi Michael,

I'm sorry but I do not understand your response. The thread you referenced above is regarding the Smith Registration module no longer being included with the install of Smith Billing Manager v.2.50. Did you send us your purchase receipt so we could verify if you orignally purchased the version which included the Registration module? If so we will send you the RegPro module at no charge.

If you are using the Billing Manager to send your customers to the Registration module payment page, the Surcharge field will not be used as the Registration module uses the Billing Managers data to apply the payment information. The surcharge is applied only when processing the purchase of a fixed price product through the Registration Pro module.

Thanks,

I guess I'm a little confused now. I purchased the reg pro. All we want to do is to be able for a user to put in an amount and then charge a percentage on that and checkout with paypal. What module do I need for that?

Hi Michael,

Thank you for clarifying that you are running only the Smith Registration Pro module.

The Surcharge feature was originally programmed to be applied to fixed price product to be applied to User Entered Amounts. If you have budget in your project we can provide you with a fixed quote to develop this ability just send an email with a link to this post to sales@smith-consulting.com. We quote all features below cost since it is enhancing the module and in most cases we can start work within a week.

Can you get me a quote on that? I'm assuming it wouldn't be too tough would it?
