Hi there

I obtained a demo version of the registration pro module so I could put it through its paces before I actually license it. I hope my problems are just my lack of understanding. I have followed the directions for setting up authorize.net demo and the registration pro modules so far. I must say the documentation matches the software exactly and that is a big relief.

What I want to do is have telemarketers accept phone calls and enter the data and process the payment. Each telemarketer will be a member of a telemarketer role in DNN. Seems to me I'd create a page which the telemarketer group can view, add the registration pro module, allow it to inherit permission from the page and all set. What happens is I can only view the module as administrator or host. I do not want the module to make the first and lastname be limited to the user account. How do I prevent that?

I tried to restrict the page to just the Telemarketer group and when I login as a member of the TM group, I get the message error has ocurred and a button to return to site. Not much detail.

I am not sure I quite follow your description of the issue. After you give the telemarketer role view permissions on the page they cannot view the registration module?

Did you try giving the telemarketer role permission to the module directly?

I first set the page permissions so the telemarketers can view the page, but not edit. The module is set to inherit permissions from the page. It shows a little lock symbol for the telemarketer role on view the module. When I login as a telemarketer and access the page, I get a screen showing an error has occured twice and return to site.

I then went back in as host and set the permissions on the module itself to not inherit from the page, to allow the telemarketer group to view the module, but not edit. Logged out host and logged in as telemarketer. Same dual an error has occured and return to page.

If you'd like I can send you credentials for host and TM1 so you can try it. :)

I just created a test account on one of our test sites:

http://www7.smith-consulting.com

Uid: Tester

Pwd: pass1234

I created a telemarkers role and added the user Tester to the telemarketer role. I set the page permissions to only allow view on the telemarketer role. When you go to the site http://www7.smith-consulting.com you will notice there is a blank page. If you login using the Tester userid you will see the payment registration module. Looks like its working fine let me know if this is the scenario that you have setup.

That sounds exactly like what I'm trying to do. I can give you host credentials and the TM1 user id and password if you'd like to see my setup. what is your email address?

I just logged into your portal and tried it, I unchecked the inherit permissions for the module and assigned telemarketer role to view the module and now the menu option shows up when your logged in as telemarketer but when you go to the page it gives an error. When the module loads it doesnt do any checking for permissions or roles it just inherits the dnn permissions like regular dnn modules. I dont think this is an issue with the module as you can see from our test site I setup to try and replicate the issue http://www7.smith-consulting.com the module reacts properly with dnn permissions and roles and I was able to restrict access to the telemarketer role for the page/module. I think you might have an issue with your dnn install. Can you install a new dnn instance and test it. Who is your hosting provider?

Well I recreated the site using the hosting company's normal installer. I've installed other modules with them before and never had this problem. Is there anything more you can suggest? Is there a way for me to enable more advanced error reporting on the site so we can debug this?

Thanks

Hi all

I've asked the hosting company to look into my problem. They confirm the error. The put another module on a different page and were able to restrict access to it as I wanted to do with the registration module. The hosting company thinks the error is with the module and you think the error is with the hosting company. Well. Other smith consulting modules are installed with DNN installations by ihostasp.net. It seems to me, that your module should work with them. Can you please get in touch with them and try to make this work. It is for a very important client. Fingerpointing at each other is not solving the problem.

Thanks

Mike

In order to fix an issue we need to be able to replicate it in our dev or test environment. On our www7 site we setup the exact scenario to try to replicate:

http://www7.smith-consulting.com

Uid: Tester

Pwd: pass1234

We created a telemarkers role, added the user Tester to the telemarketer role then set the page permissions to only allow view on the telemarketer role. When you go to the site http://www7.smith-consulting.com you will notice there is a blank page. If you login using the Tester userid you will see the payment registration module. We want to get this working for you maybe we can schedule a conference call to discuss options please email support@smith-consulting.com with some times that work for you.
