I am using Web Payments Standard from PayPal as my gateway/merchant solution with Smith RegPro, and maybe this is a misconfiguration on my part, but is it necessary to have the user enter their Credit Card info twice?

The way this flow is working, my users enter their name/address/phone/etc. on the first page of the registration, then their payment information on the second, and then they confirm and are sent over to PayPal where they again have to select and enter payment type/information.  Is this correct?

Do you need to see any setup or other screenshots?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,

When using the PayPal Website Payments Standard gateway option you should go in the following order:

Step 1 ( where users enter their name/address/phone/etc) > Confirm page > To PayPal > Confirm Status page.

I think the issue may be that you have enabled you may have the Show PayPal Checkout Option enabled in the Payment Gateway Checkout Option section.

To confirm this go to your Registration Settings the scroll down to the Payment Setup section and switch the Gateway to the Manual option. Is the Show PayPal Checkout Option enabled?

Thanks,

Kevin,
Attached are the screenshots from my configuration. (EDIT:  I was unable to upload the attachments.  I have emailed them to you)

PaymentSetup_snap1.png - The payment setup section as I have it.  This is before I select 'Manual' as the Payment Gateway

PaymentSetup_snap2.png - Payment setup section with 'Manual' selected as Payment Gateway type.  No other changes made.

Should the payment gateway be set to 'Manual' all of the time?  I was under the impression that it should have 'Paypal Website Payments Standard' set.

Thanks for your help with this!

-Mike

So, I got past one hurdle, but there seems to be another.

In order to prevent the CC info page from appearing as Page 2 of the process, the Payment Setup --> Payment Method Setup --> Credit Card checkbox should NOT be checked.  When I removed this check, I am taken to a payment information page (step 2) with a dropdown that has no choices.  If I click 'Next' I am taken to PayPal.

Almost there guys... can you get me the last mile?

AFTER SETTING GATEWAY TO 'MANUAL'

Hi Mike,

I don't have any email from you in my inbox and I also checked with Support and they don't have an email from you either. You can also upload the screenshots to your posts by clicking the "Edit" button then using the Rich text Editor.

If PayPal is your primary Gateway, it is correct to have PayPal Website Payments Standard selected in the Gateway dropdown. The "Show PayPal Checkout Option" should only be used if you have a different primary Gateway but you would still like to offer the PayPal option.

I would like to see your screenshots or you can also log into one of our test portals. Just let me know if you would like to be sent login credentials.

Thanks

I added the screenshots above.

The only difference now is that I have unchecked the 'Credit Card' payment method.

I am still taken to the second step of selecting a payment method before seeing the summary screen.

Hi Mike,

I still have not been able to replicate the same behavior of when using PayPal, and being directed to Step 2 instead of the Confirm Page then to PayPal but I may not have the exact same configuration as you. I would like to have you login to one of our public test portals and configure the module the way you have your's configured and try to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue you are reporting is with the latest version of the module or an issue with your specific DNN portal/module install.

Please send an email with a link to this post to kevin@smith-consulting.com and I will provide you with access.

Thanks,
