This function just simply doesn't work, DNN 6.0.1 Cart 4.52.

We have a cart where some things can be shipped via Media Mail USPS but others can't be. We can't assign Media to only some things and not to others, so cooked there. If on checkout they choose Media for a non-media item shipping is undervalued. Thus checkout by USPS can't be used

So, we went to Shipping by Quantity and find its not working for us. Choosing the option under general shipping and then setting it up in the Admin Menu - it doesnt add the amount to the item on check out. In fact, it makes you choose a shipping method when there is no method to select and won't allow further advance to check out.

Hi John,

In order to for your Custom Ship Methods by Quantity to be applied and displayed in the Shipping Method dropdown on the Cart page, you must set a Shipping Method for your Custom Ship Methods by Quantity. I realize that in the Product Manual shows that it is optional however it is necessary and we will update the manual accordingly.

Thanks,

We thought of that and did that already and it still doesn't work. In fact, it started forcing the user to choose a ship method when none were available and wouldn't let us continue. Now we can't get rid of that if we go custom.

Glad to give you access and login. Fastest and easiest to get it done. Again, very frustrated customer. If we could designate some items for media and others 1st class or ground instead of universal it would also solve the issue but can't do that either.

Let me know...

Hi John,

I have not been able to reproduce this behavior on our test portal running DNN 6.0.1 and Cart v.4.67 as shown in the screenshots below but I am unable to test on the same version of the Cart as you are running which is v.4.52. On our test portal when the quantity of a product increases and the Update Quantiy button is clicked, the Shipping rate shown in the Shipping Method dropdown will also reflect the change. To confirm the issue is fixed in the latest version of the Cart you can download the trial version and then upgrade to the latest build to fix the issue. Or you can install and test the Trial version on a new DNN sandbox before installing to your live site to ensure proper functionality.

Thanks,

I'm happy to give the upgrade a go with the trial. I'll grab it and see what it performs. Thanks! If I plug it into the live site will the site license take effect?

Hi John,

When upgrading please make sure you install and test on a new DNN sandbox before installing to your live site.

Before you install to your live site please make sure you have a full backup in case you need to rollback. If you install the trial version over your full version the licensing message will be displayed as it is hardcoded into the Trial version. If the latest version solves your issue then you have the following options to receive an updated license:

Option 1 - Sign up for the cart maintenance plan
https://www.smith-consulting.com/pd/p...

Option 2 - If you are within 6 months of your purchase date we will send you a coupon for 50% off the cart.

Thanks,

Kevin,

This option should work. It is supposed to work and it should made to work.

Recurring Subscription module seems to work just fine and I'll keep getting those, in fact I bought 2 of them just today.

Hi John,

Depending on your purchase date, you may qualify for a free upgrade. Please send an email to support@smith-consulting.com with your User ID and purchase receipt so we can work with you on this.

Every release of the cart has at least a couple bug fixes which is the nature of business for any software company.  The cart comes with 3 months of free upgrades from the date of purchase which is inline with other module vendors and gives you alot of time to determine if a key item like shipping is not working in the version you have installed and requested/obtained a hotfix and/or new version for the function that is not working for you . We ask that customers maintain an active cart maintenance plan so you will have access to cart downloads area throughout the year as needed. We release new versions of the cart frequently with bug fixes, security patches and new features which provides a level of protection for your ecommerce site.

We appreciate your business very much.

Thanks,
