I have recently run into some issues with version 4.5.  Please let me know if they have been addressed since.

  • I had a customer add a $100 product to the cart and then apply a 50% off coupon.  The customer then added a $30 variant of the product.  The discount remained at $50 (this is a bug as it should apply to both variants, i.e. $100+$30 * 50% = $65 off).  The customer then deleted the $100 item from the cart, and the discount still remained at $50 (this is an urgent bug).  The customer then purchased my product for free.

I called the customer, went into the Orders menu and changed the coupon to 50% on his order, calculated, and it showed the correct total on the screen.  I then sent him the invoice and it reads -$20 as the total (another bug).

  • When a coupon is applied, it is transmitting the full amount to ShareASale instead of the discounted price.  This is causing me to pay my advertisers double.

  • When a coupon is applied, it is transmitting the full amount to Google Analytics instead of the discounted price.  This is causing my metrics to be inaccurate.
I would test this out on www7 but I don't remember the username/password.

Thanks

Chad

Hi Chad,

Which version of v.4.5 are you currently running?

I have not been able to replicate the issues you reported above on our test portal running the latest v.4.67. Please email me at kevin@smith-consulting.com and I will send you the login credentials to our test portal.

Thanks,

Kevin,

The screenshots of the issues are attached.  This was taken on www7.

The first screenshot shows the coupon only applying to 1 item, when it should apply to both as they are the same item, just a  different variant.
The second screenshot shows the urgent problem.  To recreate:

1. Add the higher priced item of a variant and apply a coupon of 50%.
2. Add the lower priced item of a variant (this is where the coupon should apply to both items)
3. Delete the higher priced item and you will see the discount from the higher priced item is still applied.
I would also recommend keeping the coupon populated in the coupon textbox if only one can be applied to the order at a time.  Otherwise, a small grid of applied coupons (with the ability to remove the coupon) would work.

I was unable to test making a purchase, but it is very easy to test if the correct total amount is being transmitted to Analytics/ShareASale.  Just look at the view source after completing a purchase and you can see if the right values are being passed.  If a coupon is applied, it should be passing the discounted amount, not the full amount.  That is on a per item basis for Analytics, and a total basis for SAS.

Hi Chad,

I have not been able to replicate the issue of applying a coupon with a discount percentage to different 2 Variants of the same Product but different Price Adjustments then deleting the higher priced item and the discount from the higher priced item still being applied to a lower priced item, the discount is automatically changed.

I have been able to replicate the issue of when adding two different Variants of the Product but different Price Adjustments the coupon discount percentage amount will be applied to 1 Variant. I have sent this issue into programming and will post back as soon as an update is available.

Thanks,
