Customers are reporting (one sent a screenshot) a DotNetNuke Error (no error code) after finishing a purchase and being directed to .../tabid/59/ctl/ConfirmStatus/mid/652/Default.aspx page.

The purchase goes through. The customer gets an email invoice.

I searched the forum, but couldn't find any help for Confirm Status issues.

DNN 5.5.1

Smith Cart 2.99

Authorize.net (AIM)

2/29/2012 UPDATE:

I've done some testing and confirmed the ConfirmStatus page is producing a generic DotNetNuke error. I enabled debug=true, but got no further information. What is odd is if I open a new browser window, and copy and paste the URL the page will load (with empty fields of course). Then if I go back to the original page and refresh the confirm status page loads correctly. If I don't go to a new page and simply refresh it doesn't load.

Any thoughts?

Hi Jared,

I am unable to test this issue on the same version of the Cart as you are running as it was released almost 2 years ago. The current version released is v.4.92. To confirm the issue is fixed in the latest version of the cart v.4.92 you can download the trial version from the following link and then upgrade to the latest build to fix the issue. As always, we recommend first doing the upgrade in a test environment and make sure you have a full backup before installing on your live site just in case you have you need to rollback.

I don't think my customer will go for an "upgrade" cost to resolve the issue considering the current version worked at one point. It's probably not a good idea to have that conversation with them until I've tried to identify and resolve the root cause. I can't put my finger on what could have happened since little has changed with the site except for text editing and posting content.

I could potentially "upgrade" the site to 3.00 since I have it to see if it resolves the issue. Would I just install 3.00, remove 2.99 modules from each page, and add 3.00 in their place? Will the store still display all of the orders?

Hi Jared,

When upgrading, it is not necessary to remove the modules from the pages. Your store will also retain all its historical and product data as well. Also, when upgrading, it is always recommend the you first do the upgrade in a test environment and make sure you have a full backup before installing on your live site just in case you have you need to rollback.

Thanks,

New information: If you wait long enough after getting the above DNN error a browser refresh will load the confirm status correctly and everything works as it should. More importantly, I've also discovered the add user role function is causing the issue. If there is no add user role checked for the product the confirm status page loads correctly. Any thoughts on this new information?

Upgraded to Smith Cart 3.00. Same issue. Found a post on the forums that sounds similar. A way around the issue according to the poster was to add a role expiration in days. I tried this and it did not work for v3.00. Dave Smith stated at the end of the post the bug was caused by something that changed in DNN 5.2 or greater. Smith Cart v3.05 resolved the issue.

Anyone know of a different workaround for this bug?
