Good morning. Instructions did not work for me. I tried it and all step 4 is doing is what step 3 did; turn all the registrants on my portal to scbuyer1. I do not want my customers to have a scbuyer role. Could you point out to me what I am doing wrong? Thanks

Step 3 – Assign Buyer Users to SCBuyer Roles
From the User Accounts screen (same screen from Step 2) click the pencil next your buyer user account to edit the user.  Next,  click the link titled “Manage Roles for this User” and Select the “SCBuyer” role you created and click “Update User Role”. The Buyer will now be a member of the “SCBuyer” role.

Step 4 –  Assign Customers to SCBuyer Role
If your customer/dnn user account you want your buyer to buy for already exists, then you need to assign the "SCBuyer" role to the customer from the DNN Admin menu - user account - manage roles screen.

Hi Lloyd,

To clarify what you are looking to do, you are looking to place orders on behalf of a user who is already registered on your site but now places order over the phone, correct? If so, you to add the Buyer role to the customer's username AND to the Purchasing Manager, Customer Service Rep, or phone order taker users.

Thanks,

I cannot add anyone to the scbuyer control unless they recently bought using Smith Cart. How do I get a customer to show up in the control so while under admin I can put them under scbuyer, if the buyer registered before I installed your cart? This thing does not work.

Hi Lloyd,

Since the SCBuyer role cannot be added to the Admin, you will need create a new user to be used when placing orders of behalf of customers and add the Buyer role to that user.

Thanks,

I already setup a user (not admin) to be the scbuyer. The module is not working.
