How do I ensure that confirmation emails are actually sent? Furthermore, how do I make order confirmation emails be sent automatically? As it appears now, I have to manually send confirmation emails when I go into the 'manage orders' console. Even then, the confirmation emails are not being sent.

Hi Tara,

Which version of the Cart and DNN are you currently running?

Email Confirmations are sent out automatically after each successful purchase unless you have enabled the "Disable User Email" or "Disable Admin Email" features.

There are several things that can cause an email to not be delivered:
  1. Email spam filters blocking or email server failed to deliver. Check your email server logs to see if the message was received and sent by your email server.
  2. Reverse dns not setup
  3. Firewall blocking or firewall ports opened. Check your firewall logs for filtering, smtp messages or packets filtered.
  4. Check with your hosting provider to see if they have had any issues with their email servers and that your email is properly configured and setup with your host.
  5. In most cases its not the cart that is the problem when emails are not delivered its one of the items listed above or a hosting/environment issue.

I'm running DNN 6.02.00, Smith cart 5.0.0

Those boxes are not checked so I will have someone help me look at the other options you mentioned.
