Hello again - 

I have found another bug with my Smith Cart 5.20 installation. I am running DNN 6.2

When trying to submit payment during the checkout process, I receive the error:
"Error processing payment. Please try again. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I tried deleting all payment methods and gateways. Then re-adding them. This error still pops up, no matter what payment method has been selected.

Hi Alex,
I just logged into the www21 test portal and looked at the payment zones you setup and noticed you had all countries added except United States. I added United States to the payment zone and was able to checkout without an error. Did you specifically leave out US from your payment zone? Were you testing using an international address?

What would cause that error to occur?

We're using the Manual payment gateway. We run our CC's manually after the sale comes in.

Literally any kind of update here would be appreciated. Is this a known issue that is currently being troubleshooted by Smith? It's hard to believe that this issue is specific to my installation. I am running a clean install of 5.20, with no modifications.

My event viewer is literally Loaded with "Module Load Exception" errors coming from the Smith.ProductDetail module. All conatin the same error:



Should I open a support ticket? I called the office and left a voice mail today, hoping to hear from someone.

I know there are other things going on in the world besides my personal website issues, but it has been 6 days since Scott's last post.

Angry customer e-mails and missed sales are ruining my days :(

I purchased the $20 one month upgrade package, and updated my site to Smith Cart 5.22

Checkout is now working. Thank God. There is still some kind of issue happening behind the scenes though. Since I started working on the site a few hours ago, the smith.productdetails module has generated over 100 "Module Load Exception" errors in my event viewer.

Each error contains the same message, but it originated from a different page. I'm betting that each time a buy now page is accessed, its generating an error, which will very soon cause my event viewer to balloon out of control.

I have included the full event log message for you to view. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Good Morning Kevin,

I have some very disheartening news. I stopped working on the site at 5PM last friday, and it has not been touched over the weekend. As of 5PM friday, I was able to complete a checkout, but my event viewer was being flooded with the errors listed above.

I logged in this morning to do another test checkout. The error has returned.
"Error processing payment. Please try again. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I am once again, unable to complete a checkout on my site, in any of the stores. I am running a clean install of 5.22 - with absolutely no modifications to it's files. Other than page templating.

Here is a link to a screenshot of the processing payment error. This occurs after a user has submitted the order. I receive no record of the attempted completed checkout, and the sale is lost.
