In the "Categories" menu I've populated the sort order fields as I would they them to appear on the store listing

Example:

1. Mobile Solutions

2. Modules

 

But that's not reflecting in the order in which they're listed on the homepage (2. is still appearing before 1.).

 
Please advise if this is a bug or if there is another way in which to do this, thank you.

Hello,

I just tried to re-produce this issue on my test portal and was unable to recreate the behavior you reported, however I may not have the exact same configuration as you. I would like to have you login to one of our public test portals and configure the cart the way you have your's configured and try to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue you are reporting is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific DNN portal/cart install.

I logged in to the server and tried to replicate the issue. The categories (on the test portal) changed order as expected. How do I proceed to resolve the issue with our installation?

Since you can’t recreate the bug on the test portal indicates the issue may be something with your Cart install such as being out of sync. To get a working cart on your site I recommend you download SmithCart 5.0 from the Cart Downloads page and complete an upgrade of your store to see if the issue is corrected.

Upgrade Note: When upgrading, it is always recommended that you first do the upgrade in a test environment and make sure you have a full backup before installing on your live site in case you need to rollback.

Since we have 4.96 of the cart, are we going to have to pay to license 5? It let me download without paying for anything, I want to make sure it's not going to un-license the store or something when we install (which we will do on a test server first anyways)

Your existing license should remain valid. Just remember, when upgrading, it is always recommended that you first do the upgrade in a test environment and make sure you have a full backup before installing on your live site in case you need to rollback.

Hello,

We upgraded our store to version 5.34 and are still experiencing the same issue with the categories not appearing in the specified sort order. I've attached a screenshot to show you. Please advise, thank you.

Hi Chris,

How were your Categories added to your store? Did you add them through the Cart UI or did you import your data?

Since the issue cannot be replicated on the test portal and only exists in your store the issue may be caused by something in your environment. I recommend creating a test environment with a clean install of DNN and the Cart to see if the issue is still exists.
