Hi,

I am using the shipping calculator in the cart and while testing out the rates I have found that the international rates are not correct. (Domestic rates are coming up correct). I have USPS as the carrier and compared rates with their website. Here is an example:

Using total item wieght of 84 ounces from California to Germany:

Parcel Post: SmithCart = $49.00 USPS.com = n/a

Express Mail: SmithCart = $49.00 USPS.com = $56.00

Priority Mail: SmithCart = $28.75 USPS.com = $43.25

As you can see this is a huge discrepancy. Please look into this right away.

Thanks,

Josiah

I also thought I would mention that you may consider allowing for domestic and international shipping methods to be different. For example Parcel Post is not actually an option for international shipping. Two checkbox lists 1)Domestic Shipping Methods 2)International Shipping Methods would be a nice addition to the shipping features.

Per our phone conversation this morning we are looking into the differences in USPS international rates you reported. For international shipping thru USPS the cart uses the standard size package type and most likely the issue is related to the wieght of the items in your cart requiring a larger size package is the reason that you are getting higher shipping costs when you request the shipping cost directly from the USPS site.

I hope this information will help your developers in resolving this problem. I tried checking out with one item that is 13 oz. SmithCart calculated the shipping at $20 even for Priority Mail from US to Germany. I went to USPS and got rates for a 13 oz package and tried different package options including an envelope. I also checked the complete list of rates from here: http://pe.usps.com/text/Imm/fh_011.ht...

There is no rate for any kind of package or service that is exactly $20 as computed by the cart.

I know this is being looked into so I am only posting this in an effort to help fix it.

I am disappointed that the international shipping calculations were not included in the latest release. I really need this to work properly. Please let me know when a fix will be released for this issue.
