I am trying to upgrade from 2.96 to 3.01 and I am getting the following error:

Error A critical error has occurred.
Method not found: 'Int32 Smith.DNN.Modules.BuyNow.RegistrationController.AddCustomer#System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, Boolean, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, System.String, Int32#'.

Any thoughts?

In the dnn host - module definitions did it update the cart version to 3.01?

Dave,

It did update to 3.01 in module definitions, but when I navigated to my site I got the error.

Something must have gotten out of sync in your cart build and the install. I recommend you download and install the latest cart version and do the following:

Clean Install Instructions

1. From the dnn->host menu uninstall all 6 modules; Smith.BuyNow, Smith.AffliateTracking, Smit.CategoryMenu, Smith.MiniCart, smith.featuredproducts and Smith.MyAccount. Make sure you check the delete files box when you uninstall
2. Confirm that all stored procs and tables with a prefix of smith in your database are deleted
3. Confirm that all files in /desktopmodules/smith.buynow are deleted and the folder is removed
4. Install the latest module I sent you today
5. Configure the cart settings
6. Add one category, manufacturer and product and test

If I do a clean install what happens to all of my products and settings? I have a backup, but if I restore, it will go back to 2.96, correct? Is there a way to preserve my store and still upgrade? There is no way I can start from scratch again, I have to much time invested. I'll have to sit at 2.96 if that's the case...

The clean install deletes all the data so if your site is live and you need to maintain your data I would restore so that your back to 2.96 before the upgrade then try upgrading a couple revs at a time maybe try 2.98 first then go to 3.01. Also before you try installing next time try resetting iis

After doing a little digging I found out the cause of the problem. It is the affiliate tracking module. After removing the affiliate tracking module from my store, I was able to upgrade successfully without error, however, placing the affiliate tracking module back on the main page causes the error again. This might be a bug, can you replicate this on your side? Thanks.

-Ricky

We will try to replicate using the affiliate tracker. Thanks for reporting back your findings!

Were you able to replicate this error with the affiliate tracking module?
