Because of the fine list of new features for 3.07, I upgraded from 3.04 to 3.07 today. When I go to the Woodfold section of www.spacemanagementproducts.com I receive the error "To request a license key click here. To purchase Smith Cart online visit smithcart.com. Thank you for using Smith Cart." As this was working just fine yesterday and we purchased the license last April, I am wondering what now is wrong? Additionally, pictures in the Details Page do not change when I select a Fabric or Finish variant as it did prior to the "upgrade".

Help, please.

Thank you.

Regards,

Art

PS The license error shows up on your test server, www9.smith-consulting.com. The test Freestanding 3 panel doesn't show up at all on the test server.

If you dowload cart v3.07 from the downloads site again and just copy the productlist.dll from the zip to your \bin folder it should fix the licensing issue.

I downloaded 3.07 again and extracted the dll. I had to make an assumption since theire is not productlist.dll in the package. I am glad that I have enough experience to understand that the real name of the dll was App_Web_productslist.ascx.54f2e0e1.dll . You might want to write your instructions more precisely. A not-so-technical person might not be able to make that kind of assumption. The upload worked.

The license message is no longer displayed, but the variants still don't work.

I just looked at www9 and the same problem still exists. Again, if you can't take the time to get your test system to work, how do I trust that the stuff you put for download will work?

I spent my time yesterday restoring my system from backup to 3.04 where it worked. Incrementally upgrading, I found that 3.05 is actually where the problem began. That means that the enhancement that I paid for worked for one release cycle, approximately one week, before my investment dropped like a stock market crash. When I see that www9 actually works then I will apply your upgrade again and pray that this time it does what it should. Until then, please don't waste more of my time.

Here is the link to the product that doesn't use any conditional variants. I think anyone who clicks on it will see that the page comes up blank.

The product does exist. It is located on the last page of http://www9.smith-consulting.com/Defa... as the "FREEstanding
5'9" Length (3 Panel)
4'-0" Height
" .

Art,

The issue with the FREEstanding 5'9" Length (3 Panel) 4'-0" Height " product most likely has to do with all the single and double quotes you have in the product and variant names as you know those are reserved characters in asp.net and sql programming. Try removing the single and double quotes from the product and variant names and see if it works for you. When you change the variant option in the dropdown, the picture and price change work on the other product you setup "240V" that doesnt have all the single and double quotes in the name.

Hi Scott,

Sorry. That is not correct. Here is the link to the last know good version of your software, 3.04, on my development/test/production system. It is exactly the same as what I tediously typed into your www9 test server. Please take the time to click and look at this link: http://www.spacemanagementproducts.co...

You will immediately notice that there are the exact same single and double quotes in the name to tell people that this is the 5 feett 9 inches, 3 panel wide by 4 feet 0 inches high. What is interesting about your www9 server is that for what ever reason, nothing shows up.

Just to let you know, when I upgraded to 3.07 for a day, the picture and variants showed up, they just didn't work. The picture didn't change when I chose a Fabric or Finish variant, and the prices didn't change for most of the other variants such as "Marker board".

Please let me know when you actually track down the cause of the www9 error and correct it so I can have some faith that an upgrade to 3.07 will work in my environment and I won't have to restore it from backup again. Thank you.

Regards,

Art

PS I know you always say please install to a test machine, but in reply to that, your upgrade would have ruined the test environment and I would have had to restore that or recreate it from a back up. Not much time savings there. I am am just glad this isn't live yet.

I took out the single and double quotes on the FSL 403 product on your www9 server. The screen still comes up blank. Any researched advice would be appreciated.

Hi Art,

Per our phone conversation the www9 test site is no longer active and we have created a new test site www7.smith-consulting.com. Please do your testing on that test portal.
