My client wants to create the following type of coupon:

"Buy one *PRODUCTNAME* at regular price and get the second one for 50%. Enter coupon code B1G1 at checkout."

How can this be done, and if not what is the closest thing to do to accommodate?

Thanks!!

You could accomplish this 2 ways:

Option 1: You would set up seperate skus for your offers buy one get one, two, three ... etc. In the product setup screen there is a field called "items in sku" that allows you to tell the cart how many individual items are in the sku.

Items in Sku – Items in Sku is used if you are bundling multiple products in a single sku. For example, a “But 2 Get 1 Free Deal”. It is used in conjunction with the coupon feature giving you the ability to control the coupon discount. For example, if you are running a promotion for 5 dollars off and individual products and the customer purchases the buy 2 get 1 free you can give them 10 dollars off. This feature allows you to use a single coupon codes for the single items or the bundled items.

Option 2: You could setup a bundled product using the "use primary price and weight" checkbox.

Thanks,
Christian

I hate to be difficult but would you mind dictating more detailed steps for Option 1? There's about 500 products in this store, so I can't imagine going through every product to utilize items in sku.

What would you do step by step in this situation?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Well usally with a B1G1 coupons, it's not for every item in the store its just a special on one or two products that if you buy one you get one free.

Are you trying to create a coupon that is a B1G1 coupon for everything in the store? Or just certin products?

Thanks,

Christian

There are 3 parent categories. 2 of those categories and all the products within them would require the following deal:

Buy one get one 1/2 off.

Is there a way to do that so regardless of price differences the cart can still calculate it if they add a second deal into their cart and use the coupon code?

Thank you very much.

Currently in the cart there is no way to set up a coupon for buy one get 50% off the second item. There are really only 2 ways you can accomplish this, which are posted above. I know you said you don't want to use Items in Sku because there are alot of products. You could setup a bundled product using the "use primary price and weight" checkbox tho.

Thanks,
Christian
