DNN 6.0

SC 4.52

I am doing testing with a  request a quote catalog senario and the unit cost field on checkout page is displaying the price as well as "Request a Quote.  I have tried to clear browser and dnn cache and restarted app, ticked and saved unticked and saved hide price.  In product setup hide price are set to True as well as hide quantity. I have had this problem with all versions from3.8 up to 4.52.  This was a clean 4.47 install then upgraded to 4.52  See attached Screenshot.

Is the normal behavior for the request a quote checkout page.

Hi Sean,

I have been able to replicate the Unit Cost showing on the Cart screen when "Hide Price" is enabled in the Cart settings and have forwarded this into programming, I will post back as soon as we have an update.

Thanks,

Any word on v 4.56 or 4.57? Sorry to pester but we're currently dealing with the quoting issue.

In terms of RFQ process, if a user places an order for an item marked RFQ what happens during checkout? Do you charge CC for other items in the cart that do not have Hide Price checked or does the whole cart default to RFQ? Are there any mechanisms in the order manager to accomodate RFQ (order status)? Any guidance from past projects would be appreciated.

Hi Ted,

SmithCart v.4.57 will most likely be released by the end of today.

In regards to your inquiry about the RFQ process, I'm assuming you are referring to the Request Freight Quote feature correct? If so, when “Request Freight Quote” Shipping Method is enabled in the Cart Settings following functionality is enabled:

  • A checkbox entitled “Show Shipping Methods” appears. When checked, buyers will see a dropdown of custom shipping options on the Step 1 checkout screen.
  • The Step 2 checkout screen will be skipped.
  • The title of the “Billing information” box changes from "Billing Information to “Freight Quote Request” and all fields in Billing Info box is hidden on the following pages:
    • Confirm Page
    • Confirm Status Page

When the "Hide Price" is enabled the “Price” field is replaced with “Request a Quote” on the following pages and emails:
  • Cart
  • Confirmation Page (Before Payment)
  • Confirmation Page (After Payment)
  • Customer and Admin confirmation emails

This feature is useful if your site is “Request a Quote” only or if your business only sells to resellers that require prior approval before buying your products.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your help.

The unit price is now showing request a quote, but the confirmation email is still showing order amount. Do I need to adjust the templates manually or is this supposed to change the tempate automaticlly.

Sean

Hi Sean,

How have you configured your Hide Price settings? Are you referring to the Sub-Total field in the email? If so you can take out the "[SUBTOTAL]" token in the email templates.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

I have changed the templates. From the forum it sounded like this was  automatic action in request a quote.

Thanks

Sean

Hi Sean,

The default Email Templates that come pre-configured include all basic fields for a purchase. These fields can be moved, removed or change to provide the exact information you would like included in the emails.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

Actually I was referring to the payment and fulfillment process of carts in which an item is marked as Hide Price.  If a user submits an order with an item that has Hide Price checked how does the admin fulfill the purchase?  There are 2 scenarios I can think of relating to this that we need to handle:

  1. User adds 1 or more items to cart that are ALL marked Hide Price.
  2. User adds 1 or more items to cart marked Hide Price and 1 or more items to cart NOT marked Hide Price.

First Question: In each case what happens on the credit card Auth/Settlement side during the checkout?

Second Question: What happens in the admin when we save pricing for items that were marked Hide Price (Request for Quote)?  I can see that we can edit the pricing and save the order details.  How do we then charge the card?

We're just having trouble figuring out how this supports the RFQ process from a payment/fulfillment perspective.
