I am trying to setup two stores on the same DNN portal and running into a few issues with the checkout process.

Store 1 - Needs shipping information and multipage checkout
  • This works fine
Store 2 - Does not need shipping and only Single Page Checkout

Pretty much seems like the 'Hide Shipping' in the Buy Now Settings, is not working at all.
  • Have 'Hide Shipping' selected in Buy Now Settings
  • Single Page Checkout still shows 'Use Shipping Info:' in the 'Bill To' box
  • Shipping Information still appears on the Checkout Confirmation (Screen Shot attached)
  • Also on the Single Page checkout screen there is NO option for the customer to enter there email address?? I am highly confused by this (Screen Shot Attached)
  • There is also a bug of the 'Payment Option' disappearing when you select 'Back' from the confirmation screen, and only reappears when clearing the cart and re-adding products to the cart. (Screen shot attached)
Just seems like something is glitching and not letting the 'Hide Shipping' option in the Buy Now Settings, hide everything even though I have enabled it.  I have tried disabling the 'Hide Shipping' option and re-enabling it and does not work.  Have restarted DNN host, no changes.

Is there a conflict somehwere, or where else should I look to keep investigating?

DNN: 07.00.05 (130)

Smith Cart: 5.68.0

Thanks

Hi Mike,

Which PAyment Gateway are you using?

Have you configured Payment Methods and Payment Zones?

Which Shipping Method do you have configured in your Shipping Settings?

I believe the Single Page Checkout option was only designed to be used with orders that include Shipping. Please respond to the above questions and in the meantime I will check with programming on this.

Thanks!

Hey Kevin,

I am using Authorize.net and have successfully processed several Test payments.

Yes, Payment Zones and Methods are setup and appear to be working correctly.  But when on the Confirmation screen and click 'Back' to the previous Single Page Checkout screen, the payment method dissappears from the dropdown list.

I have set shipping to Free, but even if I change shipping options and turn off 'hide shipping', no shipping dialog box appears on the single page checkout screen. This is what makes me think something is wrong.

When looking at source of the single page checkout screen, I get the screen shot attached where I can see the comments as where the shipping code should be, but there is nothing there.

Thanks

I also want to point out that when disabling Single Page Check out (And going back to multi page checkout Step 1 Step 2), and enabling 'Hide Shipping', the Shipping Page still appears as Page 1 when clicking on "Check Out".

Appears that the 'Hide Shipping' option in Buy Now Settings is not working.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

Which Auth.net gateway do you have selected? AIM or SIM?

If you have Free Shipping selected you're not going to be prompted to enter any shipping info. If you need to use Free Shipping, I recommend disabling the "Single Page Checkout" option. Single Page Checkout should only be used if you are offering Shipping.

Hi Mike,

The "Hide Shipping" setting hides the Shipping line item, not the Step 1 Page. The info entered on Step 1 of checkout is required as it is used to populate the information of your customer's DNN profile.

You can change the "Shipping" text on the Step 1 page to "Customer Info" by changing the labels on Step 1 by editing the resx file.

If you want to remove certain fields from being required you can always edit the ascx and set the enabled property of the required field validator for that specific field to false.

Hope this helps!

Authorize.net AIM

I have switched to Multi Page Checkout and what I am trying to do is have no shipping information at all what so ever for this store.  Should I just check 'Hide Shipping' in the Buy Now Settings? Or what else would I need to do to completely remove all references to shipping in the checkout process?

Thanks

My worry is that if I change the resx file it will update across all stores, is that right?  I would like to keep the shipping labels on the other stores that do need to require shipping.  Is that possible?

Hi Mike,

Yes, if you are using other BuyNow modules on the same DNN instance, changing the label will also change it in all stores running on the same DNN instance.

The ability to modify checkout labels and pages per BuyNow module is not currently supported; However, our programming dept. is available to add this feature. If you have budget in your project and would like to be provided with a quote to move this into programming, please submit a quote request at the following link - http://www.smith-consulting.com/servi...

Thanks!
