I have 3 products listed so far and they're all in the same category. If I click on a different category it still shows the products that are set in different categories.

Categories:

Name1

Sub1

Name2

Sub2

Name3

Sub3 (Has 3 products)

I click on "Sub2" and it goes to the BuyNow page and shows the 3 products that are in "Sub3"

I've checked the settings... BuyNow and Details page are selected in all module settings..

Anyone had this problem?

Thanks,

Patrick

In the category management screen try removing the "URL Keywords" for your categories and see if that fixes it.

Hi Dave,

This still has not fixed the issue. I've cleared the DNN cache, browser, etc.. after removing what you said.

I did a fresh install of 3.85

What should I try next?

Thanks,

Patrick

Did you select a page name in the category module settings?

Yes, in the module settings for the category I have the BuyNow page selected properly.

In order to determine if the issue is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific site/cart install can you login to our test portal and configure the cart settings to match your cart settings and try to replicate the issue.

Hi Dave. I've narrowed down the issue but it makes absolutely no sense.

The category module drills down and filters correctly under the following circumstances:

1. It's on the same page as the BuyNow module.

2. In the category module settings the buynow page is "NOT" selected and left blank.

This is how it's setup on your test website.. the BuyNow page isn't selected, yet it is the same page anyway. So I went to my website... went to the buynow module page.. went into the category settings.. UN-selected the buynow page.. and it works fantastic. As soon as I select the BuyNow page it doesn't work and all products show no matter what is clicked on.

I still have a problem on the home page.. I have the category module on the home page which is absolutely necessary for design purposes and I can't get it to work.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hi,

I also have this same issue with the category module on the home page. No matter which category I click on it always shows the main list of everything. Please help with this.

I am running SC 3.8.1 and DNN 5.5.1

We are running SC 3.8.0 and DNN 5.5.0 and experience the same problem. Visitors come to the home page and click on a category. The site responds with the BuyNow page but all the products are listed; not just those in the category. They have to click on a category again (while on the BuyNow page) to get the proper listing.

On the home page, I have the category menu in a pane and its settings point to the BuyNow page. On the BuyNow page, the setting for "BuyNow Page Name:" is set to blank.

My client is waiting for me to fix this.

BTW - on the test site http://www7.smith-consulting.com/Cart.aspx this problem can be seen. No matter which category I click here it displays all of the items.

In the category module settings removing the buynow page name fixes the issue and its now filtering. Selecting the buynow page name in the settings should only be selected when the category module is not on the same page as the buynow module

dsmith - the issue that all three of us have posted in this thread is with the category module on our homepage not filtering at all. All of us have checked that we have the correct BuyNow page specified in the module settings.

This is clearly not an isolated issue and we have clients that expect this to work. Please fix this defect.

Did you try what David recommended and not selecting the buynow page name in the category menu module settings? if you have the category module on the same page as the buynow module you dont need to select the buynow page name. That setting is only used if you have the category module on another page without the buynow module.

The category module is on my HOME page, the BuyNow module is on a page called STORE. I know what he said to try but that is not the issue. In fact I have tried BOTH settings anyway, as well as remove and re-add the module, I also just upgraded to 3.8.1 and it is still not working.
