PayPal Standard Checkout Bug

Hello,

We are processing payment through PayPal Standard and we noticed that when a shopper clicks on Place Order, on the Pay with PayPal page, if they choose to Pay with Debit or Credit Card the Shipping Details from the store are populating the PayPal Guest Checkout form. I believe the Billing details should be populating the PayPal Guest Checkout form from the store and not the Shipping details.

Hi,
The idea with PayPal standard is that you don't handle any credit card information including billing address as this info is entered by the user on the paypal site. When you are using Paypal standard the only info collected on your site is the customer/shipping info and we send that to paypal as the default for billing info because most of the time the shipping and billing info is the same. The user can change the billing details at paypal if they are different. This is not a bug.

Hello,

I understand your logic assuming that shipping and billing info is typically the same, but in the case where it's not and the customer enters different billing info it can be frustrating for them to have to re-enter the billing details once they are at PayPal.

The shopping experience should be as painless as possible, so why wouldn't the cart send PayPal the Billing Info if it's required and may not necessarily be the same as the Shipping details?

If it's not a bug, then I believe it's an oversight.

The user is not entering the billing details in RazorCart so where are we suppose to populate it from?

Our store is only accepting payments through PayPal. When you checkout you'll see from the video that Shipping and Billing details are required.

You are right, we are sending the shipping details instead of the billing details. I have added this to the dev list and the change to send the billing details to paypal will be in the next release. Thanks for the feedback!
