I'm using version 4.93

I have noticed a behavior that I find confusing and I believe is an error. I have poured over all of the options documentation that don't see a way to address what I have found.

In my cart I have setup:

  • shipping and handling to the "zone shipping by weight"
  • defined several custom shipping methods
  • defined several different zones, for this example I will point out that I have his own for the state of Minnesota and another zone that includes the state of New Jersey
  • in the shipping – "by weight" section I have set up various line items by weight

When I do a test order I pick a product from the cart and then check out

See screen shot 1: note the state is NJ and the price has been properly set at $27 for shipping, this is correct

Click on the “Proceed to check out”

See screen shot 2: This is not my main issue but email and phone are empty despite being already entered into the DNN user profile

Actually, I am not really sure the reason for this screen, what is its purpose, why does the buyer get another chance to change the address info they just entered?

Note that the state has changed to MN

Here is where the main problem is

Since they change the state my zone rules are not used.  In this case they will be over charged for shipping.  The rate should be $13.  I can also run the problem so that the user can start with a cheaper shipping zone on the welcome screen and then change the location to a more expensive zone on the shipping screen.

I tried to attache images file (.png) and screen shots in a .docx document but I always get "An error has occured. Error: is currently unavialble"  I would like present these pictures but cannot

Hi Scott,

You can upload your screenshots inline with the thread by editing your post after submitting and using the Image upload option of the rich text editor.

Regarding the issue you reported, "Ship To" section of the Cart page is only used to determine the Shipping Rate for the package to be shipped. The Step 1 page titled "Shipping" is used to populate the customer information of thier DNN profile. in your Cart Settings under the General Cart Setup section is a feature titled "Shipping Label" which allows you to change the "Shipping" title in the checkout to anything that fits your requirement. For example, if you are selling downloadable products you might enter “Customer Information” to replace the shipping label on the following screens and emails:

  • Confirmation Page (Before Payment)
  • Confirmation Page (After Payment)
  • Customer and Admin confirmation emails

Thank you for the attempt but I don't think my question was understood, and it may be hard without the ability to show pictures.

I have tried to edit my post as you suggest but I do not see any ability to attach images inline.  With the rich text editor selected I have very limited options.  Bold, Italic, points, add a link, but nothing about images files.

I see an attachments section, I can browse for a file but when I try to upload I get an error "An error has occured"

Am I missing some rights in the forum?

I believe a soultion would be to for us to create a custom cart setting to enable single page checkout which would skip Step 1 of checkout.
