While testing the website this morning I have discovered what I would consider a glitch in the cart upgrade 5.25.  Our client paid for a customization that allows for an address book to be offered on the Cart Page of checkout.   We have added this to our checkout process but what I have found is that whatever address is added on the cart checkout page for shipping is also changing the DNN profile of the visitor.  The DNN profile should always remain the same as most often it is the billing contact.

Our client often has customers that will drop ship to their various stores.  The idea for the address book was so they could enter those addresses once and have the ability to select that address when sending to the various store but maintain the billing address as the DNN contact information.

I would appreciate any insight you might offer.

Thank you!
Ashleigh

Hi Ashleigh,
Correct me if I'm wrong but the customization we did for you did not have any line items that related to populating the user's DNN profile. The way the cart is programmed as it relates to the populating the users DNN profile after a successful order is as follows:

1. New User (User not logged in) - The cart will create a DNN user account and populates the DNN profile with the info the user enters in the customer/shipping fields.

2. Existing User (User logged in) - The cart will update the DNN user profile with the info the user enters in the customer/shipping fields.

Let me know if I missed a requirement that you ordered in the customization we did for your company.

Thanks,

The reason for one of the customizations you most recently completed was to keep the DNN profile intact as the billing address. The address book added to the cart page offered the customer a way to drop ship easily without changing the DNN profile, or the billing address. One customer may ship to multiple locations but their billing address, what we thought was the DNN profile address, should remain the same.

Your thoughts?
